This unique event is hosted by local refugees and asylum seekers, who will each prepare a meal from their own national cuisine, and share their stories of how they have ended up calling Melbourne their new home.

As much a cultural as a culinary experience, the Refugee Degustation is a unique opportunity to get real-life insights into the lives of our local refugees, through their food and their stories.
Our hosts for these events are refugees and asylum seekers from you own community, who will share their stories as well as their favorite home cooked meal. Learn to appreciate new flavours, and help break down barriers through an increased understanding of unfamiliar cultures and social issues.
Through this wonderful experience you are also helping support the livelihoods of our amazing cooks, as well as helping them connect with their wider community.
